Job Summary:  

The BOP Tools Technician will be responsible for the repair, certification, and documentation for all BOPs and/or down hole tools utilized in the district.

As a BOP Technician, you will work alone and as a team. BOP Technician duties include the following:

  • Responsible for servicing all blow out preventers, pack offs, reel swivels, lubricators, iron and down hole tools (BPVs, etc.).
  • Responsible for performing and documenting all pressure tests for these components after service.
  • Aids management in developing a preventive maintenance system for these components.
  • Assists field personnel with job-related problems associated with these components.
  • Drives Key vehicles as necessary
  • Positions, lifts, attaches, installs and works with matting boards, tubing, rods, casing and associated well equipment, such as rod strippers, polish rods, etc.
  • Operates rod wrenches, tongs, elevators and other associated rig tools and equipment.
  • Reports safety hazards, accidents or maintenance issues to the rig supervisor.
  • May become trained to operate Key Energy Services special equipment (e.g., Hydra Walk).
  • Works on elevated platform handling rods, tubing and other equipment related with well servicing.
  • May work in the BBS (Behavior Based Safety) observation process as an observer, facilitator and/or trainer.
  • Completes required work plans, job safety analysis, observations, and attends safety meetings as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  We are looking for candidates that possess the following skills:

  • Mechanically inclined/jack-of-all-trades, and/or oil field experience.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and meet all qualifications defined in Motor Vehicle Policy to drive Key Energy vehicles if required. Commercial drivers license is considered a plus.
  • Good work history with proven track record.
  • Able to confirm accuracy and job quality using established mechanical and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and/or in writing.
  • Interact positively with others on the team.
  • Excellent customer services skills to provide world class value to customers.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Required:

  • Must possess valid driver’s license and meet all qualifications defined in Motor Vehicle Policy to drive Key Energy vehicles if required. CDL is considered a plus.
  • Own a reliable vehicle (not shared).
  • Ensure all safety policies are always followed.

Pay and Benefits:

  • Pay rates are based on experience and demonstrated skills. Entry level candidates will earn up to $24 per hour with a commercial license.
